CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Nominations are called for the Local Government Extraordinary Election to be held on Friday 21 January 2022 to fill one (1) 2-year term .
To be a Councillor, you would be involved in running an organisation with the responsibility of making decisions that have a major impact on our lifestyle. As a representative of your community you will find the role enjoyable, challenging and stimulating with involvement in matters as diverse as recreation, strategic planning, the environment, financial planning, town planning, youth, roads and many more.

Who is eligible?
Any person who is an Australian Citizen over the age of 18 years who is an elector of the district and is not disqualified under the Local Government Act 1995 may nominate for council.
Prior to nominating, a candidate must complete Local Government Candidate Induction online through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Communities website. You require an email address to complete the induction.

When to nominate
Nominations open on Wednesday 8 December 2021 and close at 4.00pm sharp on Wednesday 15 December 2021.
Where to nominate
At the Shire of Beverley Office, 136 Vincent Street, Beverley.
The Office is open from 8:30am – 4:00pm
Nominations must be to the Returning Officer (CEO) on a prescribed form that is available from the Shire Office.
An $80 nomination deposit is required as well as a profile of the candidate consisting of no more than 800 words. You can include a recent passport sized photo of the candidate’s head or head and shoulders if you wish.
If unable to personally attend to nominate, an authorised agent can do this on a candidate’s behalf.
