Harvest Bans & Extreme Fire Danger Warnings
No burning whatsoever is permitted on days of HIGH, EXTREME OR CATASTROPHIC FIRE DANGER or where WINDS EXCEED 20 km/hr. Harvest bans and the prohibiting of vehicle movement in paddocks are published immediately via the Shire of Beverley SMS Alerts system and Shire of Beverley BFB WhatsApp groups.
Minimum Standards for Volunteers Fighting Fires
The minimum standard of dress for ALL persons attending a fire is:
- LONG PANTS
- LONG SLEEVE SHIRT
- BOOTS
The minimum training requirements for volunteer fire fighters attending fires in their own vehicles are:
- DFES RURAL FIREFIGHTING AWARENESS and/or
- DFES BUSHFIRE SAFETY AWARENESS
For Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade members crewing Local Government fire fighting appliances an additional requirement is:
- DFES FIRE FIGHTING SKILLS
Any person not conforming to these standards will be requested by a Fire Control Officer to vacate the area.
