Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct for Council Members, Committee Members and Candidates was first adopted by Council at its 27 April 2021 Ordinary Council Meeting.

It is adopted in accordance with sections 5.104(2) and s.5104(7) of the Local Government Act 1995.

The Code of Conduct was most recently adopted on 25 February 2026 due to the amendments to the Model Code of Conduct prescribed in the Local Government (Model Code of Conduct) Regulations 2021 now provide for the new role of the Local Government Inspector and clarify decision-making responsibilities for behavioural breach complaints.
