Within the townsite of Beverley small piles of garden waste may be burned after 6pm but must be fully extinguished by midnight and the following conditions must be complied with...

  1. The Fire Danger Rating for that day must be Moderate or lower.
  2. The pile cannot be larger than 1 cubic metre.
  3. The area surrounding the pile must be cleared of all flammable material to a distance of 5 metres radius.
  4. DFES Communications Centre must be contacted on 1800 198 140 with the address where you are burning before you commence.
Failure to comply with conditions and restrictions can result in infringement notices or prosecution and invalidates insurance protections should a burn escape and cause damage to others. Please stay safe and take sensible precautions to prevent the danger of uncontrolled fires.
