BURNING PERIOD

PROBIHITED BURNING is in force from 12:01am Sunday 1st November 2009.
No fires allowed in the open. The use of slashers and tillage implements is banned until the prohibited burning period has been lifted.

FIREBREAKS

FIREBREAK ORDER BUSH FIRE ACT 1954
All owners and occupiers of land are required on or before 15th November every year to provide and thereafter maintain free of all inflammable material until 15th April of the following year, firebreaks as stipulated in the manner described in the schedule – see your Shire Information Booklet (enclosed with rates notice).

BEVERLEY GYMNASIUM

The Shire of Beverley will be opening the Beverley Gymnasium from 1st September 2009.  Terms and conditions apply. 
To join you will need to complete a membership application, available from the Shire Offices or view HERE.

BEVERLEY CARAVAN PARK

Located on Council Road (1 minute walk to main street, eating out, shops and Tourist Bureau), the Shire of Beverley Caravan Park is undergoing major work to upgrade the facility. It offers 19 powered sites and an area under trees for campers. Operating on on a first-come first-serve basis and an honour system, charges are $22 per night or $5 per night for campers. Caravan Clubs can be accommodated at other town facilities (if necessary). Please ring 9646 1200 for further details.

ADVERTISING in BEVERLEY

There are two local publications in Beverley:

  • Weekly - The Beverley Bulletin Board - an A4 flyer, distibuted each Friday with deadline 11am each Wednesday - $4 for 3 lines for commercial ads - FREE Community Notices. Go to www.beverleybulletinboard.com or email bevbull@gmail.com
  • Monthly - The Beverley Blarney - B/W, A4 portrait layout, 1100 distribution on the 1st of each month and with a deadline of around 23rd of the month (subject to change) - various advertising charges from $5 - $74. Who's Beverley?

Beverley is a vibrant rural community with a population of 1600. Located in the western central Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, Beverley is less than 140km east of Perth. Whence did Beverley come?

The Beverley Roads Board Foundation Stone

The history of the Beverley district goes back to around 1831, only two years after European settlement of Western Australia. In this year, the first land grants were issued, with the name 'Beverley' having been attributed to Colonial Surgeon Charles Simmons, who was born in Beverley, Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and was one of the first landowners in the district.

What's In Beverley?

The Shire of Beverley covers 2,300 square kilometres of the Western Australian central Wheatbelt. The predominant industry is broad acre agriculture, particularly livestock and cropping. Other supporting industries, such as farm suppliers, steel fabricators, financial services and general retail are found in the main town of Beverley.
